How to use the Schengen 90/180 calculator

  1. Choose “Check my current allowance” for a snapshot, or “Check a planned trip” to test a proposed arrival and departure.
  2. Add previous Schengen stays, including short visits. Entry and exit dates both count.
  3. For an ongoing stay in check mode, enter the entry date and use the check date as its exit for this calculation.
  4. In planning mode, keep the planned visit in its separate fields. The result tests each day and reports the first date exceeding the ordinary limit.
  5. Review the active window and any warning, then recheck after changing your itinerary.

“Days remaining” is a snapshot. A longer future visit can sometimes fit as old days drop out. See remaining allowance versus maximum stay.

An example you can reproduce

Enter 1–10 January 2026 and 1–10 March 2026. Set the check date to 10 March 2026. With no other stays, the result is 20 used days and 70 remaining.

Change the check date to 30 June 2026. The window now starts on 2 January, so the result is 19 used and 71 remaining. This illustrates how dates fall out of the rolling window.

Check the scope before using a result

This tool checks the ordinary 90/180 rule. It does not check a visa’s validity, shorter permitted stay or entries. Read the visa-sticker guide and use the app’s Type C checker for those additional inputs.

Residence permits, long-stay visas, free-movement situations and bilateral arrangements need their own assessment. Include only ordinary short-stay days applicable to this calculation. A result cannot grant entry or resolve missing travel records.

Does the calculator save my trips?

No. It runs locally for a quick check. Reloading or closing the page clears its entries. Save your trip history in the iPhone app for repeated use.

Does a green result check my visa too?

No. This web calculator checks the ordinary rolling limit. Your visa validity, permitted stay, entries and other conditions need separate checks.

Does planning mode check every day?

Yes. It evaluates each day of the proposed visit against its rolling 180-day window, using the history you enter.
