Many questions are already answered in our guides — the 90/180 rule explainer, how to count days, and the Schengen calculator. For day-to-day tracking, the iPhone app keeps your trips saved.
We can’t make official immigration, visa, or border decisions — always confirm with the relevant authorities before you travel.
About Schengen Rules
Schengen Rules publishes short-stay planning guides and the Schengen 90/180 Tracker for iPhone. We explain the calculations behind our tools and link to the authorities responsible for the rules. This website and the app are independent of the European Union and national border authorities.
Our guides are published by Schengen Rules. Where a guide introduces our own app, that product relationship is made explicit. The app is free to download, with optional Pro purchases.
How we check our content
- We check policy and status statements against the official sources linked on each guide, giving current operational pages priority over older launch announcements.
- Worked examples use explicit years and inclusive calendar days. We verify published counting examples with automated checks of the rolling 180-day window.
- Dates shown on guides reflect a substantive content review or update. Deployment alone does not change them.
- Product descriptions distinguish free features from Pro purchases and explain the limits of the web calculator and app.
We provide general explanations and planning tools. Individual visa terms, residence status and exceptions require guidance from the issuing authority or relevant border service. Please email us a page link and the official source if you find a correction.
